Facilities & Administrative (Indirect) Cost Rates
The following F&A cost rates for sponsored projects at SIUC will be in effect from 7/1/08 through 6/30/12:

SIUC's rates are set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. [see Rate Agreement] The University recovers the applicable federally audited rate from all agencies that are legally bound by that agreement and from all other government or private funding sources that will reimburse SIUC at the audited rate.
In the case of full indirect cost recovery, the rates above are applied on modified total direct costs (MTDC), which excludes the following: equipment, space rental costs, capital expenses, stipends, tuition, and subcontract amounts in excess of $25,000. If the agency's stated policy is to pay a lower indirect cost rate than the relevant federally audited rate for SIUC, no items are excluded from total direct costs unless the agency stipulates otherwise.
